Tulips

May 8-June 3

We specialize in growing a quality French tulip.  Our tulips are extra-long (up to 42”—105cm).  A combination of a very long dormancy period (our northern Vermont winters), planting techniques, and bulb selection help achieve the quality we are known for.  French tulips are long-stemmed and large-headed.

Three grades of tulips:

(Left)  The longest stemmed, largest headed for the variety in a French wrap

(Middle)  Comparable head size but shorter stems in a French wrap

(Right)  Slightly smaller heads and sometimes shorter length in a clear sleeve.

Cutting Stage

We cut our tulips with between 20 and 50% color. Bunches are 10 stems and a box contains 200 stems (10 bunches).
